Privacy
This site has no accounts, no sign-ups and no forms. It uses two analytics tools to see how people use the guide. This page says what they collect.
What we collect
We do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details. If you email us, we keep your message and address so we can reply. We do not add you to a mailing list.
When you visit, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity record how you use the site. This includes the pages you view, how you got here, your device and browser, and your approximate location, such as your city or country.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics tells us how many people visit and which pages they read. We use it to decide what to write next. We also use the totals to show local businesses how many people use the directory. We never share data about a single visitor.

Microsoft Clarity
We work with Microsoft Clarity to see how you use the site. Clarity records clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and it can replay a visit as a short video. It also makes heatmaps of where people click. This shows us when a page is confusing or hard to use.
Clarity hides the text you type. It uses first-party and third-party cookies to collect this data. Microsoft can also use the data to improve its own products and advertising. Read the Microsoft Privacy Statement for details.

If you visit from the UK or Europe, a banner asks before any analytics cookies are set. They stay off unless you accept. You can change your choice at any time.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
Where the data goes
Google and Microsoft store analytics data on their own servers, which can be outside Canada, including in the United States. Our host, Vercel, keeps short server logs, including IP addresses, to keep the site running and secure.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it to show you ads.
